Bli Bli unites to raise funds for White Ribbon via inaugural Fun Run
Sunshine Coast residents are encouraged to come out and run or walk around the picturesque Parklakes 2 residential community on Sunday 24th September in order to raise funds for the anti-domestic violence cause White Ribbon.
Organised by the Bli Bli Neighbourhood Watch, the inaugural event is expected to attract people of all ages and abilities who will embark on a leisurely 4km walk or run through Parkakes.
Organiser and local Neighborhood Watch Area Co-ordinator Edith Blanck said there had been an overwhelming response from locals wanting to either walk or run and support the White Ribbon foundation.
“We’ve had a great response from residents within Bli Bli as well as those people who live at Parklakes 1 and 2 and both the local Halcyon Retirement Villages who are keen to participate, it’s a really active and engaged community and we’re thrilled that they want to support such an important cause.”
“We’ve also worked hard to create a carnival-like atmosphere when the participants conclude their walk or run so they can relax and enjoy their Sunday while also supporting local community groups such as Crime Stoppers, the Bli Bli School, and the local fire brigade who will all be involved in various stalls on the day,” Edith said.
The event will be managed by Jason Crowther from Atlas Multi Sports, one of the region’s leading sports event management companies.
Registrations commence at 6.30am with the event starting at 8am, registration is $15 per family, $10 individuals and $5 students. To register visit www.atlasmultisports.com.au/bli-bli-unite-run
