Hot Buttered Rum Cocktail
by Head Bartender, Andrew Purse
Vintaged Bar + Grill, Brisbane
The hot buttered rum emerged alongside the rum and molasses trade in the United States back in colonial times, shares Karen Hoskin, co-founder and president of Montanya Distillers. Some people believed drinking melted butter would keep a sailor warm through the long, cold nights at sea. Of course, adding rum made the melted butter go down much more easily.
