The Style Edit: What to pack for a long weekend

I hope that you’ve found a way to turn the Australia Day public holiday into a sneaky long weekend. I am all set to check in to the lovely coastal town of Byron Bay for a much needed escape with my husband.

I’ve already started to mentally pack (I’m sure I’m not the only one who does this) and I wanted to share some of the essentials everyone needs for a stylish weekend away.

If you’re heading to a sunny spot with a beautiful beach – a casual beach/throw-over dress is a great basic to pack and is easy to pop on over your bikini and cute enough to wear for an afternoon drink. I love Sportsgirl for their range of quality basics that look great and are comfortable.

A roundie towel is a necessity (okay maybe not totally necessary – but super cool). I’m a big fan of The Beach People. Check them out here – I have also spotted their awesome towels at Willow and Bird in Cotton Tree.

Long Weekend

  1. Sportsgirl dress $39.95| 2. Beach People round towel $110 | 3. Bardot sunglasses $69.95 | 4. Sportsgirl hat $29.95 | 5. Senso Clutch $89
    6. Sheike earrings $39.95 | 7. Mac lipstick $36 | 8. Windsor Smith heels, $159.95 | 9. Bardot dress $89.95

If you’re planning on heading out for dinner and drinks, then a little black dress is a must-pack. Inject a little glam into your look with a pair of heels and sparkly earrings or keep it simple with a pair of strappy flats.

I recommend a trip to Cotton Tree to discover the unique boutiques and enjoy some delicious foodie treats while you’re at it!

I love this Senso clutch from Alterior Motif – it’s just the right size to fit the essentials in and is the perfect staple to suit almost any outfit. It’s worth investing a little extra money into a clutch to ensure it will see you through the seasons.

And if you plan on staying locally for your long weekend I recommend a trip to Cotton Tree to discover the unique boutiques and enjoy some delicious foodie treats while you’re at it!

Wherever you end up – enjoy!
