Dubbed the Jimi Hendrix of the Hammond Organ, Lachy Doley is Australia’s most celebrated blues soul rock organ player. As the frontman of The Lachy Doley Group, he'll be bringing his musical magic, energy and good times to The Brewery at The Imperial Hotel on Friday 17 November, supported by Sugarbag Blonde.
Doley pumps, pampers and pounds the most unbelievable sounds from a keyboard: sounds that are intense, ferocious and sometimes transcendent.
His keyboard has powered acts as diverse as Bernard Fanning, Jimmy Barnes, Powderfinger, The Beautiful Girls, Jimmy Little, and The Widowbirds.
Supported by hard-hitting Jackie James Barnes (son of Jimmy) on drums and Joel Burton on bass in The Lachy Doley Group, Lachy performs with his treasured 1957 Hammond C3 organ and the incredibly rare custom-modified 70 stringed Hohner Whammy Clavinet – the only such machine in the country. Add Doley's screaming passionate powerful blues vocals and you've got one mesmerising and unforgettable live show.
The Lachy Doley Group are a truly unique sound in the classic and sometimes very traditional genre of the blues.
Their latest album LOVELIGHT (Jan 2017) is on track to surpass their previous album by debuting at #40 on the Australian National Charts the ARIAS. It has reached #1 on both the Australian Blues & Roots Airplay Chart 2017 and Australian iTunes Blues Chart 2017.
Their previous album CONVICTION reached #1 on the Australian iTunes Blues Charts, #1 on the Australian Blues Roots Airplay Charts and #5 on the UK Blues Broadcasters Charts.
The Lachy Doley Group head to The Brewery after a massive 2017 that has included a tour of Europe and the UK as well as Canada.
